Windshield wipers are a key safety item on your vehicle that you shouldn’t neglect. Over time, the rubber degrades, which reduces your wiper blades’ effectiveness. To inspect your windshield wipers, lift up the wiper blade arms and take a close look at the rubber blades. If you see cracking, fraying, and/or distortion, that is a good sign your wiper blades need to be replaced. Additionally, if you get streaking, squeaking, or just find your wiper blades ineffective, you should consider replacement.
Replacing the windshield wipers on your Porsche Macan is super simple. Before you begin, check out the video from the YouTube channel, Trevor Campbell, to get an overview of how to put your wipers in “service mode”. This is an important first step so you don’t damage your vehicle. Detailed step-by-step instructions and parts and tools required can be found below.
Step 1: Ensure you have the correct replacement windshield wipers
- Inspect your new windshield wiper blades and ensure they are identical to your existing wiper blades.
- Pay close attention to the shape and width of the replacement blades in addition to the wiper arm adapter design.
- Remove the new windshield wipers from their packaging.
Step 2: Replace each front windshield wiper blades
- Start by turning on the engine and letting it run for 5 or more seconds.
- To engage “service mode”, turn off the engine and briefly push the windshield wiper stalk down as shown in the above video; your windscreen wipers raise halfway up and stay there.
- Go to the outside of your vehicle and raise the driver side wiper arm.
- Locate a square button on the arm bracket; as shown in the video from 1A Auto Parts, press the button with your finger and slide the wiper out with other hand.
- Fit the new wiper blade by sliding it into the arm bracket; you should hear a click as the square button pops into place.
- Repeat these steps on the passenger side wiper blade.
- Turn the ignition on, and briefly push the windshield wiper stalk down to return the front wipers to their original position.
Step 3: Replace the rear windshield wiper blade
- Replacing rear wiper is even more simple.
- Lift the rear wiper arm off the glass and snap-of the wiper blade as shown in this video from 1A Auto Parts; you will need to use a little force.
- Align the bracket of the new wiper blade with the wiper arm slots and push the new wiper blade in place.
- Place the rear wiper on the glass and you’re all done!

The front wiper blades you recommend to replace the original wiper blades on my 2017 Porsche Macan S are the Bosch Aero Twin OE. On your site it says they are 24” and 20” which is correct. However, when you go to the Amazon site from your site to buy these wipers, it shows they are 23” and 20”. So, the driver’s side wiper looks like it is 1” shorter. Is that correct or is their a better alternative.

Hi Jim. That is the correct part, but it should read 23″ instead of 24″. Sorry about that and thanks for the catch!
